How The Ledger earns money, and why it never changes which prices or drops we show.

The Ledger is free to use. We earn money through affiliate links.

How it works

When you click a link to a retailer and buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission. You pay the same price either way.

What it never changes

• Which drops we post. Every drop is chosen by the same published rules. A retailer can't pay to appear, and a commission can't put a deal at the top.
• The prices we show. We show the price the retailer lists in its own product feed, checked every morning.
• Which shop we call cheapest. We always rank by price, even when a cheaper shop pays us nothing.

Advertising standards

Social posts that contain affiliate links are labelled #ad, in line with UK Advertising Standards Authority and CMA guidance.
